BIKE FRIDAY RECUMBENT : 24 INCH BIKE TYRES.
Bike Friday Recumbent
- Bike Friday is a brand of folding bicycle made by Green Gear Cycling of Eugene, Oregon, United States. Cyclists often refer informally to the company as Bike Friday.
- (of a bicycle) Designed to be ridden lying almost flat on one's back or sitting up with the legs stretched out in front
- (of a plant) Growing close to the ground
- (esp. of a person or human figure) Lying down
- accumbent: lying down; in a position of comfort or rest
- (Recumbents) A recumbent bicycle is a bicycle that places the rider in a laid-back reclining position. Most recumbent riders choose this type of design for ergonomic reasons; the rider's weight is distributed comfortably over a larger area, supported by back and buttocks.
- (Recumbence) Lie down (or lying down) may refer to the following: * Prone position (face down) * Supine position (face up)
NWT with fenders and lock
I mounted the fenders (Planet Bike 20" recumbent fenders), thanks to the judicious use of zip ties. I'd need to shorten the stays to avoid zip ties and I don't have the necessary tools! But the ties work fine.
I also added an essential item for Oxford: a top-rated bike lock, the Abus Granit X Plus. There are lots of bikes in Oxford, hence lots of thieves.
I had intended the bars to be level with the saddle, but when I specified the fit, I hadn't realized that the Nitto Randonneurs have a longer reach than the bars on my LHT and the linear pull aero levers have longer hoods than the LHT's levers. As a result, the reach to the hoods is considerably longer than on my LHT. If I get a shorter stem, I'll lower the bars; otherwise they work fine as is and the height makes riding in the drops more comfortable.

Yes, I know the fender line isn't very elegant. I might try to fix it soon. The Planet Bike 20" recumbent fenders are a wee bit too big, but they provide better coverage than Bike Friday fenders.
